Driven by his passion to capture fleeting moments of splendours for posterity, Wai Teik set up his eponymous studio in 1998. Wai Teik Photography soon became synonymous with trend defining and fashion forward camera works.
Wai Teik’s lighting wizardry and trademark style is clearly apparent in fashion shoots for MTV, Levi Strauss & Co, Goldheart Jewellery, Tangs and Isetan departmental stores, lifestyle products leader Osim, telecommunications company StarHub, regional bank OCBC and shopping mall Raffles City. His work has also graced the pages of both international and local fashion magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Arena and Style.
Wai Teik’s efforts to diversify his portfolio and style finally paid off. Various government statutory boards, notably Republic of Singapore Navy, National Library Board, Health Promotion Board and Urban Redevelopment Authority, have commissioned him. He also collaborates extensively with international advertising agencies including McCann-Erickson, Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Batey, Publicis, BBH and FCB.
